6 Steps for your Sunday Morning Ritual with ODIN for more Power & Energy

6 Steps for your Sunday Morning Ritual with ODIN for more Power & Energy

Meditation, green smoothies, or rituals: successful people stay in shape through daily habits, so what day could be better than Sunday to take time for yourself?

If you want to start the day with better mood, more energy, and power, then follow the instructions for your Sunday morning ritual. Just 10 minutes are enough to completely transform your day.

#1 Open the Windows

Ventilating is important. On one hand, to supply the environment with oxygen. On the other hand, fresh air has an invigorating effect on the entire organism. If it's already bright, natural sunlight comes in, helping regulate the rhythm.

#2 Take Time to Get Out of Bed

Take your time to get up slowly and don't jump out of bed as soon as the alarm rings. Take a few deep and conscious breaths in bed "o supply the entire body with oxygen so that it gets activated. Alternatively or additionally, you can also stretch while lying down. This promotes blood circulation, increases joint flexibility, and creates a feeling of well-being by relieving the body of tensions that can arise during sleep.

#3 Read for Ten Minutes

Reading in the morning helps take care of your mental health, says Jordi Nadal in his book Libroterapia. It is proven that reading releases the happiness hormone dopamine. The release of dopamine helps our brain, among other things, to switch off and make decisions. Put your phone aside at the breakfast table and read a book instead of scrolling through social media. This way, you'll have a better mood throughout the day.

#4 Shower the French Way

Mathilde Thomas, founder of Caudalie, explains in her book "The French Beauty Solution" that a cold shower is invigorating and provides an "energy boost." If you're already shivering inside: It's enough to take a cold shower for the last minute. Before that, you can enjoy your usual shower temperature.

#5 Celebrate the ODIN Candle Ritual

Candles are powerful tools and have been used for rituals since the Stone Age. Candles are not only decorative but also provide warmth and comfort through their light throughout the year. Candles are our best companions when it comes to doing something good for ourselves and helping us relax.

Lighting a candle is a natural way to connect with something deeper, and this applies both in autumn and winter as well as in spring and summer. As a fire element, the flame represents the source of our creation and our inner light. It can be used to connect with our inner consciousness and sharpen our spiritual awareness.

In old traditions, it is said that the Norse god Odin embarked on the "Wild Hunt" at the winter solstice to chase the sunlight back into the sky. It was the renewal of light and thus marked a new beginning. [Link to Odin Candle Blog!]

Odin is the father of all Norse gods. He stands for wisdom, strength, energy, assertiveness, quick healing, and self-confidence. The scent combination of natural essences of coriander, sandalwood, agarwood, and juniper helps us tap into our own power and gain confidence in our strength to overcome difficulties, obstacles, and challenges and better cope with the adversities of everyday life.

What you'll need:

ODIN Candle
Palo Santo, White Sage Smudge Stick, Aura Spray
Ceramic Incense holder
Matchstick or lighter
Writing utensil
Soft Background Music(optional)

1. Cleansing and Opening the Space

Find a place where you can be alone and have peace.
Sit on a comfortable chair or on the floor.
Smudge the ritual area with the  White Sage Smudge Stick, Aura Spray, or Palo Santo (optional).
Light the candle.
Take a deep breath and focus on the candlelight.
Close your eyes while exhaling and imagine white light surrounding you.
Focus on your theme: in this case, inner strength, power, assertiveness, or healing. It can also be any other individual goals you wish to achieve.

2. Set your Goal and Focus

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
Focus on your breath and take time to concentrate your thoughts on your inner self and the purpose of the ceremony:
What exactly do you want, what is the goal of the ritual, what do you need?
Concentrate on the natural scent of plant essences.
Enjoy your being for about 10 minutes.
Take a few more deep, grounding breaths and open your eyes.

3. Closing

Take a few deep breaths and reflect on how you feel.
Thank yourself for taking this time.
Blow out the candle to conclude the ritual. (Note: The candles should burn for approximately 1.5 hours and be completely liquid to extend the burning time before extinguishing.)
After a ritual, journaling is a good way to reflect on your experiences.

4. Listen to the Music You Like

Another recommendation I'd like to share: Listen to music you enjoy – not too loud – while getting ready in the morning. "Happy music automatically lifts your spirits. And what better way to approach your tasks in a relaxed manner." I recommend creating a playlist that lasts the entire duration of your usual routine. I vary mine from time to time or add new pieces. Here's my own that I'd like to share with you:

Playlist: ByADushka Sunday Morning Vibes!

We would love to hear your thoughts and reflections on the Odin Ritual!
